Democrats That Have Spoken Out Against Biden’s Asylum Ban

The Biden Administration has announced that it is moving forward with a proposed asylum ban. The proposed asylum ban would deny asylum to migrants encountered along the U.S. – Mexico border who transited through a country without seeking asylum there first. It is a policy similar to ones that former President Trump and his Senior Advisor Stephen Miller tried to implement.

Title 42 is an ineffective policy with nothing to do with public health and everything to do with preventing asylum seekers from having meritorious asylum cases heard in a U.S. court. It raises serious issues of racism and discrimination in its application, and this humanitarian disaster, imposed by Donald Trump and Stephen Miller must end once and for all. Every single member of Congress should support ending it.
